Artisan Stucco & Ceramics has its origins in the restoration of historical monuments. Active in this field since 2002, we have acquired extensive knowledge and experience restoring original plasters in historical buildings.
We are experienced with large scale restoration projects where key elements are team coordination, working in close cooperation with other specialists involved in the project and showing maximum respect for the original elements of the buildings.
We know how to plan the work and improvise when needed to solve the complexities of the building site and meet the set deadlines for the project.
We have successfully completed large interventions in famous human heritage buildings, producing and applying base renders, masonry and joint mortars and a wide range of finishes including stone restorations, on facades, marble pillars and granite foundation stones.
Through years of research into the original ingredients of historical plasters and their manufacturing processes and experience with their modern counterparts, we are able to select the best materials required for a specific project.
We only use materials of the highest quality that are perfectly compatible and respectful to the original materials used in the historical building in terms of adherence, breathability and elasticity.
By choosing correct, durable and historically similar materials and using traditional and original techniques that have stood the test of time we can solve the root cause of structural problems.
Our hydrated lime mortars have proven to be very durable and can withstand extreme conditions like structural capillaries and salts, a significant issue in the underground plasters of the Arabic baths in the photograph.
Our hydrated lime mortars are very elastic. When used in building that have structural movement in their foundations, these mortars are more likely to adapt to the movements, reducing the chance of cracks and detached plaster.
